Grace Stories

Welcome to the "Amazing Stories of Grace" network. This site is dedicated to providing a place for people to share their "Grace Stories." Psalms 119:24 declares, “Thy testimonies are my delight.” (KJV) I have always loved being in services where people are encouraged to share testimonies of the wonderful things God has done for them. These testimony times are often the brightest part of any meeting. People are inspired, strengthened, and encouraged in so many ways as they listen to stories of grace and victory being shared by their peers. Many of the stories are really amazing – they produce faith, and they provide joy for believers – they also make believers out of nonbelievers.

I have created this site to capture the power of these testimony services. Everyone has a story to tell. Paul said in Acts 20:24, “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. (NLT) Paul told “Grace Stories.” He knew the powerful impact stories of faith, love, hope, and even hardship, could have on people that were struggling.

Where do we find these stories? We have them within our own hearts and lives. They are the stories of our trials, our tears, and our victories – they reveal impossible odds, heroic moments, and life-seasons that cost us everything. Were it not for the grace of God, we would have never endured. Ephesians 4:7 says, “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” (KJV) Most of the time we didn’t even realize we survived until the battle was over. “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)

How does it work? First, you sign up and create a logon account. Next you post your “Amazing Story of Grace” as a blog. If you are not confident writing your story, and you do not want to create an account, but will still like to share your "grace story", then email it to us at (ranz@deranz.com) and we will let our editorial staff fine tune your story and post it on your behalf. However, we encourage you to create an account so you can enjoy all the stories and encouragement this site was created to provide. You can also make a video of your “grace story” and upload it to our site. Share as many stories as you have but please, only post your own original “Grace Stories.”

There are episodes and events that occur in every life. This is often when grace redefines us. These are the times when it is all too clear that our only hope is found in the grace of God alone. Paul found himself in these sorts of circumstances many times. He had to learn through much pain, that God’s answer for his trial was often the simple words, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)

I believe the simple words, “My grace is sufficient for thee,” can sometimes be the hardest words for us to believe and accept. However, when the storm has passed, we are left with an amazing story that reveals God’s grace to others, and can be used to help and encourage them at their greatest point of need. So please, share your “Amazing Grace Story.” We will all rejoice with you in discovering God’s delivering power.

Better Understanding of Sowing and Reaping

I think one of the most difficult concepts for people to find balance and peace of mind in, is the concept of sowing and reaping. Somehow in our minds we generally accept that God’s willingness to bring prosperity and financial blessings to us is conditioned upon what we bring to God. We’ve all heard that we reap what we sow, or that sowing sparingly means reaping sparingly. Therefore in times of lack and necessity we tend to settle for our condition as though we are there because we have been t… Continue

Congress Calls for Day of Repentance and Fasting

IN CONGRESS

In times of impending calamity and distress; when the liberties of America are imminently endangered by the secret machinations and open assaults of an insidious and vindictive administration, it becomes the indispensable duty of these hitherto free and happy colonies, with true penitence of heart, and the most reverent devotion, publickly to acknowledge the over ruling providence of God; to confess and deplore our offences against him; and to supplicate his interposition for averti… Continue

MY MEMOIRS ARE ALMOST ON THE SHELF

In case any of you are interested, my wonderful publisher, Randall "Chief Paw Paw" Mooney has come up with the perfect title for my Memoirs, which are now finished, it's going to be called Hanging From a Tree By My Knees, the Jerry Masters story, the saga of my journey from the pine tree to the cross. All of the writing is finished with the exception of the acknowledgments and the Foreword, which is going to be written by my good friend Will McFarlane, who was Bonnie Raitt's lead guitar player f… Continue

WHAT THE MATTER WITH EVERYONE

What's the matter with everyone here. I last posted a comment on May 8th and not one person has had anything to say since. I can't believe that God hasn't done something spectacular in your life that's worth sharing. He deserves to be Glorified every single day. Because that's how often he works and does supernatural, miraculous things in your life. Is it not worth sharing and making sure he gets the Glory and Honor that He deserves. There should be a God story from every single person in here e… Continue

The Toy Story

I built a restaurant a few years ago in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. One morning while eating breakfast at a local Waffle House, I felt a very strong impression in my spirit that the waitress serving me was in desperate need of a word of encouragement. She smiled and gave me the customary, “Welcome to Waffle House,” greeting when I came through the door. As I took my seat at the counter, she wasted no time offering me a cup of coffee. She was polite, diligent, and professional in every way, but I imm… Continue

IN GOD WE TRUST

I have developed a habit for the last several months of writing on the back of all my bills exactly what the liberal thinkers and shakers are trying to steal from us, even remove from the worthless money we use and everything else that's governmental, the words IN GOD WE TRUST. So I figured they can't take it off the back of my bills. And I write it in big, bold, red letters. Just recently I've found myself in the worst financial shape I've been in since God first butted into my life, knocked me… Continue

Misplaced Outrage

Have you noticed how angry things seem today? Everywhere I turn, I see outrage. Thanks to 24 hour news coverage on television and radio, and 24 hour access to the internet, we are now privileged to partake of a steady gluttonous binge of outrage. If you are mad about politics and the government, eat up! If you hate Caucasians, Negroes, Hispanics, Asians, or Middle Easterners the media and internet outlets can provide you with plenty of hate-oriented materials to feed your cravings. If you are di… Continue

The Grace of God and Grandmother

My grandmother, Eva Mooney, was the most real and powerful witness for Christ to ever influence my life and my walk with God. After I was born, my mother left me in the custody of my grandmother as an infant and moved away to California to find herself. It was during those early formative years that Grandma poured all of her love and the love of God into my spirit and soul. She raised me until my mother returned to get me after I completed the first grade. My mother and her new husband then move… Continue

Church today

I always come away from a Sermon with something - sometimes I'm moved and sometimes, frankly, I'm bored. The latter is my own shortcoming because I'm likely not listening to what's being said with my soul. Today I actually learned something.

The Gospel that was read concerned Christ driving the money changers and those selling sacrificial offerings from the the temple. I had always thought it was because Jesus was hacked off that commerce was being done in His Father's house, but as I learned t… Continue

Shared Story

I'm in the process of reading the book, Our Greatest Gift by Henri Nouwen, a Catholic Priest. It is about relating to one's own death. In the book Fr Nouwen shares many stories and one that stands out was truly a recount of the Grace of God and working within a friend of his.

The story was about a friend of Fr Nouwen, who had a terminal disease. This woman made a pilgrimage to Lourdes, in France, seeking a miraculous cure to her disease. Fr Nouwen was concerned that the woman would be disillusi… Continue

Payroll by the Grace of God

Anyone that has been in business for any amount of time understands how “faith-building,” covering a company payroll can be. I was in a meeting one time when a pastor friend asked the question, “What is faith?” I sat quietly as I listened to different people in the room call out their answers to this question. After several scripture quotations and multiple comments, I piped up and said, “Faith is making a payroll on Friday.” I got a few, “amen’s” out of some of the other business owners in the… Continue

THE LONGER I SERVE HIM, THE SWEETER HE GROWS

Perhaps the greatest gift God ever gave me, was Christian parents. I began attending church when I was three days old. I would have started earlier but my parent's church didn't have Friday or Saturday services. Growing up, we went to church three to four times, every week and I believe I could count on my fingers the number of Sunday worship services I missed between that first service and when I left home at age eighteen. My parents were Southern Baptists and in 1954, the evangelistic goal for… Continue
